The John Doe Movement

It is 100% on the mark, if we wish to live in a safer America it is up to us. We don't want the government cracking down on us, we should be the ones defending our homes. Our soldiers are doing their best to keep us safe here by fighting the terrorists in their territory, why shouldn't we step up and protect ourselves. "Earlier this month, six publicity-seeking imams filed a federal lawsuit against US Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Muslim clerics were removed from their flight last November and questioned for several hours after their suspicious behavior alarmed both passengers and crew members. Minneapolis Star Tribune columnist Katherine Kersten reported last week that the imams, advised by the grievance-mongers at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, also plan to sue "John Does" — innocent bystanders who alerted the authorities about their security concerns. Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M., has introduced legislation to protect John Does who report suspicious behavior from legal liability. The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty; talk show host Michael Reagan; Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, who heads the American Islamic Forum for Democracy; and Minnesota lawyer Gerry Nolting have all stepped forward to offer free representation to the imams' targets.

A Hero for our time.

In an age when we are severly lacking of true heroes to look up to, one has been given to us. Lance Cpl. Jeremy Staat, a former defensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Rams is just the kind of athletic star we should be telling our children to look up to. Not the drug smoking, wife beating, strip club attending thugs that they look up to now. Here is a little of what he had to say recently:
"The way I look at it, we're spreading freedom, and you have to support the troops and you have to support the war," Staat, 29, told KITV in Honolulu on Tuesday as he prepared to leave from Hawaii. "You can't just tell some Marine who just lost his buddy that we supported you but not the war, because in that case you're basically saying that Marine, his buddy, just died for nothing. We're one team."

More Violence from the Peaceniks!

It is the third time in two years that this army recruitment office in Milwaukee has had to replace their storefront windows. The police report also mentioned human excretement smeared on the office front. Pat Grobschmidt, public affairs officer for Army recruiting in Milwaukee, said "Soldiers defend the right of all Americans to peacefully express their point of their view. We're dismayed that their actions are anything but peaceful."
Why is anyone still suprised? American Liberals (including Democrats) have been working their hardest since the invasion of Iraq, to turn this war into another Vietnam. They compare the two conflicts constantly...there is no comparison except that the anti-war movement is just as deplorable, immoral, hateful, vengeful, spiteful, and just plain evil as they were back then. Soldiers coming home from Vietnam were forced to face the foulest of evils on their return from the battlefield...Americans spitting at them, cursing them, even beating them (like what happened in Canada two weeks ago).
We lost more than 57,000 American soldiers in Vietnam and did not free them from Communist control. In the last 5 years we have lost just over 3,000 soldiers and we have freed two countries from the clutches of violent dictatorships/oligarchies. Forget that this is a completely different conflict, forget that we have been much more successful in Iraq and Afghanistan, the worst part is that the left wants this to be a loss. Liberal America BEGS for our defeat, they are praying to the god of secular humanism that we bring our soldiers home with our collective tail between our legs. They would rather lose this war, allow millions of innocent people to be ruled by harsh and violent facists then to have us win and free these people from these facists...because then the Republicans would lose. This is the most damnable part of the whole thing, they just hate Republicans...

Teach It!

A Biology teacher in Oregon was fired for referencing the Bible in his class. Not for teaching creationism but for "referencing" the Bible. The school board fired him for "for deviating from the curriculum on the theory of evolution". Here is some of what he said in the article at CNN.com:
"Helphinstine, 27, said in a phone interview with The Bulletin newspaper of Bend that he included the supplemental material to teach students about bias in sources, and his only agenda was to teach critical thinking.
"Critical thinking is vital to scientific inquiry," said Helphinstine, who has a master's degree in science from Oregon State. "My whole purpose was to give accurate information and to get them thinking."
Helphinstine said he did not teach the idea that God created the world. "I never taught creationism," he said. "I know what it is, and I went out of my way not to teach it.""
One parent complained that his daughter had been confused by the supplemental material. Oh NO!!! His child was confused by her schoolwork!! I have never seen that happen before...
Millions of American Christians with children in the Public School system are forced to hear the secular humanists worldview and creation mythology, one teacher happens to add the other side to his teaching and he gets fired. Of course, makes perfect sense.

New Strategy?

It seems like the new fad for suicide bombers may include children. It is too soon to say whether or not this is an isolated incident, but don't doubt that these "animals" will go to any extreme (extremists?) to try and prove a point. Yet for some reason we still here the same heart-felt sentiment going out to these insurgents, "It's not their fault, we shouldn't be over there in the first place." Would Muhammad approve of using children as suicide bombers?
The American public must come to realize that these jihadists will stop at nothing to hurt us. They've attacked us once before and who is to say they would not attack us again. We cannot be naive, and knowing that the insurgents have pushed their attacks to the absolute limit, is a little scary. I never understood why they killed their OWN people in the first place, but now I am completely at a loss for words. Children? May God have mercy on their souls.

"The Greatest Game"

I haven't gotten to talk about it much but with only 12 days to go, I am sitting on pins and needles. You may find out in the next few months that I absolutely LOVE baseball and the New York Mets ...I know, I know...I seem smarter than that. I have had my heart broken more than a few times since the 1986 World Series, but I cannot get away from them. In 12 days the greatest league of the greatest sport that is played on this world will begin, the New York Mets will seek a little revenge from the St. Louis Cardinals for the NLCS last year. Very interesting book about Negro League star Buck O'Neil, who by the way, should be a Hall of Famer.

This is America today...

Are you down for the struggle? These are not isolated incidents...when will we stand up to these hateful poeple who would see us all destroyed. I am not talking about fanatical Muslims!!! I am talking about left-wing Castro-Chavez-Ortega fanatics, who live right here in the United States! Who will stand up to stop them? Anyone...Anyone?

George Stephanopoulos

I watched George Stephanopoulos today with Charles Gibson talking about how the Bush administration is in trouble with the firing of theses US Attorneys...this plain ticks me off. In 1993 why was Stephanopoulos okay with Clinton firing all of the Attorneys, yet now that a Republican President fires 8, there is a problem. I haven't heard one politician talking about how two of the fired Attorneys from '93 were pursuing illegal activity by President Clinton and his friends but yet they get mad that President Bush fires these 8 lawyers without cause? I find it funny...

Those crazy Dems are at it again. This time the "problem" is so flimsy you can see right through it. They have been railing against the President and the Attorney General all day for firing eight (of 93)US attorneys...no one said a single word when then President Clinton fired ALL of the US Attorneys. AMAZING. In a political climate where every word, and action of any Conservative politician is scrutinized as a possibly inflamatory and politically motivated act...why does the Mainstream Media let this go? (As if you really need me to answer that for you)...

Amazing Grace

I wanted to leave a quick note today about a movie the wife and I were able to catch last night. "Amazing Grace" starring Ioan Gruffudd ( I had never heard of him either but I had seen him on tv), and Albert Finney, was truly magnificent. It is the amazing story of the life (specifically his battle against the slave trade) of WIlliam Wilberforce. I have to admit that I was talked into attending by my wife...but once I got the background I was intrigued. If you have not seen it, do yourself a favor and make sure you do. It is well worth the time (about 2 hours) and the money.

Duh McCain...

Great idea smart guy, go announce your candidacy on a show where almost no one who would care about you is watching. When will the Republican politicians stop messing themselves over by leaning left? Letterman's ratings are terrible, and his main audience HATES Republicans! Mr. McCain, wake up, please...
In other news, a CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) straw poll showed that Mitt Romney MIGHT (but probably not) just garner the most support from the conservative wing of the Republican Party.

Alan Colmes mad at Anne Coulter...

But is he mad at Bill Maher for his recent statements about Ariana Huffington's reckless blog)? Check out what the great liberal prophet himself had to say about the recent attempt on the life of Vice President Cheney (Maher's comments). What I love is the notion that liberals are loving, kind, considerate, generous...and that conservatives are the converse. Huffington being forced to remove all of the posts from her blog should be enough to dispel the notion of liberal "kindness". Just this past week Alan Colmes railed against Anne Coulter for using a derogatory term when referencing John Edwards (and he should have, her comments were absurd), but where was his angst against these liberal hate-mongers? There is a double standard here, and why am I not suprised that the mainstream media has not picked up on it? Liberals are okay with the murder of our Vice President but they get all riled up when "forceful" measures are used against terrorists who have been detained after fighting against us. That makes total sense...

Fight anti-semitism...

I know we don't live in a perfect world and there are going to be disagreements and problems. I just cannot understand how the war on Islama-fascist terrorist organizations is something we disagree on. I am okay with people who disagree with the Iraq war (though no one will ever convince me that what we did was not a Good thing), but are we not in danger from a radical form of Islam that tells its adherents that they either must convert us or kill us?
I am okay with people who don't like President Bush, or Republicans...because I am not a huge fan of them or the democrats either.
But how can anyone look at Iran, or Palestine, or Syria and not be worried? Let us look at the Palestinians for example. No doubt they have a troubling history with persecution from all sides(The Palestinians have been slaughtered by other Muslims as well, do not forget Black September), but in recent times they have been offered peace and their own nation but have rejected it out of hand because the Palestinian leadership believes that Israel has no right to exist and desires to push Israel into the Mediterranean.
Or Iran whose leaders continue with their violent rhetoric daily, even though time and again American leaders have promised they have no plans to attack Iran. "Iran vowed Thursday the Islamic republic would hit back at U.S. interests worldwide if attacked. The comments by Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came the same day that another top official, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Javad Zarif, warned in a column in The New York Times that efforts to isolate Iran would simply backfire on the United States, increasing sectarian tensions in the volatile Middle East, including Iraq."
I am not a big fan of the laws in Europe that prosecute Holocaust deniers ( I think its an example of European PC Socialist oppresion) but Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is ridiculous, his hate for Israel is so great that he is now calling for "PROOF" that there was a holocaust. Holocaust denial in general probably isn't too dangerous considering the plethora of evidence just lying about for you to study...but in the hands of racist Muslims it could be very dangerous. Israel has twice defended its territory from invading Arab/Muslim forces in recent history, the next attack however, could be the last. If Iran is able to upgrade to nuclear technology what would keep a government who thinks they can usher the "return" of god back with a worldwide war against infidels from using that technology?
Make no mistake folks, the leaders of Iran are seeking to hasten the return of god by destroying Israel and us non-Jewish infidels. Wake up...

Can we agree on this?

I know I said no more Joel Osteen BUT...

Look at what Joel and his cronies have done. Now that the mainstream media has gotten its hands on this how do you think "Christians" will be percieved? Of course the Lord wants whats best for us but how can anyone really believe that God wants everyone to be financially wealthy??? Look at the apostles, the early disciples, the people from the early missions movements, for goodness sake look at the rest of the Christian world outside of the USA!!! China? India? Africa? The Middle East? Southeast Asia? Latin America and South America? If you are an evangelical Christian living anywhere else in the world besides the USA, you are more than likely persecuted and probably poor. This "Money Movement" is killing us, here in America. We are becoming more and more materialistic with each passing day and now some of "our" churches are teaching that materialism is not just ok but that it is good and God will bless it! Ridiculous! (Time.com) -- In three of the Gospels, Jesus warns that each of his disciples may have to "deny himself" and even "take up his Cross."

In support of this prediction, he contrasts the fleeting pleasures of today with the promise of eternity: "For what profit is it to a man," he asks, "if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"

Generations of churchgoers have understood that being Christian means being ready to sacrifice. But for a growing number of Christians, the question is better restated, "Why not gain the whole world plus my soul?"

For several decades, a philosophy has been percolating in the 10 million-strong Pentecostal wing of Christianity that seems to turn the Gospels' passage on its head. Certainly, it allows, Christians should keep one eye on heaven. But the new good news is that God doesn't want us to wait.

Known (or vilified) under a variety of names -- Word of Faith, Health and Wealth, Name It and Claim It, Prosperity Theology -- its emphasis is on God's promised generosity in this life. In a nutshell, it suggests that a God who loves you does not want you to be broke.

Its signature verse could be John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." In a Time poll, 17 percent of Christians surveyed said they considered themselves part of such a movement, while a full 61 percent believed that God wants people to be prosperous.

"Prosperity" first blazed to public attention as the driveshaft in the moneymaking machine that was 1980s televangelism and faded from mainstream view with the Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart scandals.

But now, after some key modifications (which have inspired some to redub it Prosperity Lite), it has not only recovered but is booming.

Of the four biggest megachurches in the country, three -- Joel Osteen's Lakewood in Houston; T.D. Jakes' Potter's House in south Dallas; and Creflo Dollar's World Changers in Atlanta -- are Prosperity or Prosperity Lite pulpits (although Jakes' ministry has many more facets).

While they don't exclusively teach that God's riches want to be in believers' wallets, it is a key part of their doctrine.

And propelled by Osteen's 4 million-selling book, Your Best Life Now, the belief has swept beyond its Pentecostal base into more buttoned-down evangelical churches, and even into congregations in the more liberal Mainline. It is taught in hundreds of non-Pentecostal Bible studies. One Pennsylvania Lutheran pastor even made it the basis for a sermon series for Lent, when Christians usually meditate on why Jesus was having His Worst Life Then.

The movement's renaissance has infuriated a number of prominent pastors, theologians and commentators. Fellow megapastor Rick Warren, whose book The Purpose Driven Life has outsold Osteen's by a ratio of 7 to 1, finds the very basis of Prosperity laughable. "This idea that God wants everybody to be wealthy?" he snorts. "There is a word for that: baloney. It's creating a false idol. You don't measure your self-worth by your net worth. I can show you millions of faithful followers of Christ who live in poverty. Why isn't everyone in the church a millionaire?"

The brickbats -- both theological and practical (who really gets rich from this?) --come especially thick from Evangelicals like Warren. Evangelicalism is more prominent and influential than ever before. Yet the movement, which has never had a robust theology of money, finds an aggressive philosophy advancing within its ranks that many of its leaders regard as simplistic, possibly heretical and certainly embarrassing.

Prosperity's defenders claim to be able to match their critics chapter and verse. They caution against broad-brushing a wide spectrum that ranges from pastors who crassly solicit sky's-the-limit financial offerings from their congregations to those whose services tend more toward God-fueled self-help.

Advocates note Prosperity's racial diversity -- a welcome exception to the American norm -- and point out that some Prosperity churches engage in significant charity. And they see in it a happy corrective for Christians who are more used to being chastened for their sins than celebrated as God's children.

"Who would want to get in on something where you're miserable, poor, broke and ugly and you just have to muddle through until you get to heaven?" asks Joyce Meyer, a popular television preacher and author often lumped in the Prosperity Lite camp. "I believe God wants to give us nice things."

If nothing else, Meyer and other new-breed preachers broach a neglected topic that should really be a staple of Sunday messages: Does God want you to be rich?

Mitt Romney for President in 2008

"A New England Democrat cannot win in the South." Truer words were never spoken. A New England Republican, however, is a different story. I am officially throwing my cap into Mitt Romney's ring. I haven't heard too much about him in recent months, but i think that the Republican Party would do well to not forget its conservative right wing. Instead of choosing Mayor Guiliani for its Presidential candidate, they should go with someone more conservative like Romney. I would also not mind seeing the former Speaker Newt Gingrich get back on his political horse and make a run for the nomination. He should be proof that not all politicians are "dirty" (he is a dirtbag for cheating on his wife), but at least he has the moral sense to step down from a position of authority after making a "moral" mistake. I think Guiliani would win the Presidential race handily if he was nominated by the GOP, but I don't think that should be the end all in deciding who will be your Partys candidate for an election. The GOP need to select someone who represent the greatest majority of her constituents. I think Mitt Romney fits that bill. He is pro-life, pro-family, anti-bigg-er government, and he has the New England credentials to appeal to a wide variety of people. He has done some amazing work over his one term as Governor of Massachusetts, and I think that people should recognize that. He is media savvy and his convictions are strong...anyway thats my bit. Here's hoping someone, somewhere is listening!

Facist?

A friend of mine of a more liberal persuasion called me a "fascist" the other day (in jest of course...I think), and I laughed with him...but then I started to think about it (always a mistake). I don't vote Republican (any more) they are too liberal for me...so "fascist" would probably be something that those who lean left would call me in an argument. However, I HATE fascism...about as much as I hate communism. There are differences between fascism and communism but at the most basic level aren't both all about complete government control?
So, wouldn't the true conservative be much closer to an anarchist than a fascist? I believe that people need law to be truly free...because once law is abandoned than some people may have the power to force their will upon others. So I am not completely against government regulation, some is warranted...
I use readings from Henry David Thoreau in my Government class from time to time, and I am always amazed at the clarity with which my students can understand what he is saying. The majority of the time they disagree out of hand because they have been indoctrinated to believe that we NEED government to control a large portion of our daily lives...But every now and again one of my more astute students will cut to the heart of the matter and disagree not because we NEED more government but because we need more freedom. I know it seems contradictory...how can you need to be more free than having no rules? Thoreau said "the Government which governs best governs least". I agree with that...if we are to have a society that interacts with each other some government is necessary, but some does not have to be a lot.
Generally, I lump the fascist and the communist together...so next time those of you who lean left look to call a conservative a mean name like fascist, think about this, a fascist government controls EVERYTHING...we want government to control ALMOST NOTHING!

Fruits and Nuts? California of course...

I have been reading quite a bit about the new law that the South Dakota legislature has just passed banning abortion. Most of what I am reading is outrage. I just cannot understand it. How is this not an issue that each state should be able to decide for itself? There is a very credible argument that life does indeed begin at conception, and if the majority of South Dakota's citizens want abortion banned than that should be their right. I noticed also that the measure had bipartisan support...very interesting. Some more in the news...a gang of skinheads out in the land of fruit n' nuts ( Cali ) is looking at the death penalty. I think California injects for their death penalty and if thats the case these guys should be put down twice. On the same front that pervert freak in sunny florida just got the news he will flash fry in his own urine when Ol' Sparky lights him up (as soon as he runs through his appeals).
This guy kidnapped an 11 year old girl, raped and killed her...if you ask me there is no "cruel or unusual punishment" for a dirt bag like that. First, he should be immasculated and then slowly tortured until he is begging for death...

Those crazy Dems are at it again. Now they want to censure the President. I saw a GREAT quote from Democratic Sen. Diane Feinstein today saying that the NSA program that monitors international calls from suspected terrorists is "a very impressive program" and "that very few Senators know the full extent of the program" but "that they would feel better if they did". Maybe she should speak to Senator Fiengold so that he gets off his crazy pills, and stops running the political ploys. Censure...you people crack me up.
