Economy Still Growing

It appears the much talked about demise of our nation's economy has been a little premature. This article from AP says that the economy only grew by .6% the first quarter of this year. I don't know about you but since a recession requires the opposite of growth I would say that the AP article should not have the word only in there. By the way, just in case you were wondering the economy also grew .6% in the last quarter of last year.
My question is this; if the economy is growing, why does the MainStreamMedia keep telling us that we are in a recession? I am not saying that times aren't tough for some in America today (they are), what I am saying is that the slowing economy has more to do with the price of oil and the idiocy of home buyers who want more than they can afford than it has to do with the policies of this administration. Don't get me wrong, I think this administration is run by big spending liberals...but our lawmakers and the MSM would be serving us much better if they were taking the advice of the Shell Oil President and not focusing all of their angst at President Bush.

It's not always about race, folks!

The Police officers on trial in the shooting death of a guy in New York on his wedding day were acquitted today. Here is the article from CNN.com. I empathize with the family and fiance of the gentleman who died in the altercation, but I hate the anger that the situation has caused. People line up to lynch these men because they see it as "just another" case of police brutality. I have a different p.o.v. here and I would phrase it like this:
Why would the police officers shoot at this car? Did they just not like the people inside? While it is horrible that a death was the outcome, the police have to be on guard at all times for their own lives. They place themselves in harm's way everyday, so when they think that someone is trying to run them over with a car they have to respond to protect themselves. At the heart of the matter is this - did the officers identify themselves? If they did, then it is just an unfortunate incident. If they didn't then its murder. However, the police say they did identify themselves, and I am willing to believe them.
Also, if you read the article can you see the racial hatred of the African-American community at the courthouse(not the Afican-American community in general...just the group at the courthouse that was out for blood)? One woman shouted at a black police officer, "How can you be proud to wear that uniform? Stand down! Stop working for the masters!" Two of the officers were black, do they hate black people? Why is that we always turn back to racism? How about this chant that went up around the courthouse, "PBA, PBA, KKK! KKK!"
All of this leads back to heart of the issue. The (W)rong Reverend Al Sharpton was there as an adivsor to the fiance of the young man that was killed...why? Because when it is the police v. an African-American it is always about racial prejudice. If we want to heal as a country, and move on from the racism that plagues the hearts of so many...everyone must make a commitment to move on. If your first thought is that a slight is racially motivated, dig deeper and don't give in. If your first response to a problem is inherently racist...find another response. Teach your children that there is no difference between white and black, save the shade of melanin in the skin. Forge a new culture, one that is white, black, yellow, red...etc.
This is what Christianity offers, there is one race...the human race. To judge based on skin color is sin, and hatred cannot be abolished with laws but it must be abolished with the changing of the mind and heart.
Sorry if I rambled here...it's hard to collect thoughts like these cohesively.

McCain should win in a landslide in November thanks to the "Royal Rumble" that the Dems are participating in...but gaffs like this show that he is the one truly out of touch. The base hates him, and now he attacks his supporters? Smooth move.
* Gary Bauer could not be more RIGHT then he is in this article about the hypcorisy that courses through the MainStreamMedia in America today. Why guys like Bill Maher are not arrested for hate crimes is beyond me...as much as I think hate crimes legislation is unconstitutional I wouldn't mind seeing it used on someone like him.
* More about racism and abortion...this one should prove (finally) to the black community at large, that the Conservative movement (and to a lesser extent the Republican Party) is who African-Americans should be casting their lot with. This is a good article about the black Pro-Life movement.

Ben Stein is a genius.

Ben Stein's new movie "Expelled" is masterful. I have had a few days since seeing it, to think things over a bit, and have decided that is was just pure genius. The all out attack on mainstream American science was brilliant. In the movie Mr. Stein uses logic, cunning, and academia to poke holes in the idea that Intelligent Design (ID) should not be considered as scientific. The scientists and mathematicians he spoke with and the arguments they gave for at least giving ID a hearing were phenomenal. He attempted to remove religion from the equation and not make this movie an argument over Judeo-Christian ideas, and it worked, until the scientists who are against ID made religion the focus of the argument. The movies conclusion is that the real flaw with the "science" against ID is ... world view. You can be confronted with two brilliant, renowned scientists with two diametrically opposed views of Darwinism and the difference in their conclusion is based almost completely on the world view they hold. Brilliant work, Mr. Stein. I loved the movie and would recommend it to any who ask.

I am not a Catholic, and generally disagree with most Catholic theology... and while I know this might I offend, I happen to think that Catholicism is not Christianity. But the Pope's remarks today at the White House were wonderful. This was a wonderful speech, and I was moved by its sentiments.

Mr. President, thank you for your gracious words of welcome on behalf of the people of the United States of America. I deeply appreciate your invitation to visit this great country. My visit coincides with an important moment in the life of the Catholic community in America: the celebration of the 200th anniversary of elevation of the country's first Diocese - Baltimore - to a metropolitan Archdiocese and the establishment of the Sees of New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Louisville.
Yet I am happy to be here as a guest of all Americans. I come as a friend, a preacher of the Gospel, and one with great respect for this vast pluralistic society. America's Catholics have made, and continue to make, an excellent contribution to the life of their country. FLDS in Texas

I was extremely worried the other day as I saw that the police were preparing to raid the FLDS ranch in Texas, after accusations of child abuse and rape. The FLDS are scary, no doubt. My worry was that this would turn into another Ruby Ridge or Waco. Our Federal government tramples on the rights of the individual for the "benefit of the majority" too often. Ruby Ridge and Waco tell people who are anti-government that they are right to be worried...it tells them that they need to stockpile weapons and they need to be uber-secretive and uber-prepared to resist the government violently. It makes people on the fence between move to the side that says the government is out to get us and we need to be ready.
The FLDS raid did not turn into Ruby Ridge and Waco, (thankfully Janet Reno wasn't around to screw things up) ... but those situations need to be kept in mind. Both the minds of the people in charge of Federal police agencies and in our minds ... "we the people".

Political Correctness says it is a crime to say what you believe...are you kidding me. NEWSFLASH....Islam IS destorying France AND Imposing its acts on the French people!
Not only that, Islam is destroying our world, and we western nations who believe in the rights of all mankind are letting it. Our moral superiority is a built in self destruct mechanism. Because we are better than them, we let them in and we let them practice their religion how they see fit. We then let their communities practice as they see fit, very soon those communities are electing Muslims to office, then they will be constructing policy...it is some dangerous ground that we western nations walk on today.

Immigration

There was something unexpected from Ruben Navarette at CNN.com today ... an interesting article. From time to time Ruben surprises me. Time after time in his writing he has taken the side of the illegal immigration lobby (yes, they have a lobby), and time after time he has frustrated me (a first generation American of Cuban descent) by lumping all of us latinos together. But today he posted an article that I can get behind, where he says that the illegal immigration debate is driven by racism. On his point about racism I have to disagree, I think that there are racists out there who rant on illegal immigration because they are racist, but I think to the average American it is more out of a sense of injustice. It angers people that we allow illegal immigrants to flaunt the law so easily. I appreciate the last two paragraphs of Ruben's article where he recognizes the superiority of our American government to that of Mexico's inept, corrupt, and immoral government. It does not make up for all of Ruben's past blatherings that I have wasted my time reading, but it helps. I hope that Ruben might choose this opportunity to write more about how Mexico can help Mexicans fix Mexico and less about how we in America are racist for wanting to combat illegal immigration.

* This was a very interesting letter from the President of East Timor Jose Ramos-Horta, on the failed assasination attempt that almost took his life and the consequences it has had on East Timor.

* Here is Time magazine doing its very best to help spin Barrack Obama's recent campaign mistake, when he called small town Americans "bitter". Here is the quote that should have made most Americans angrier than it did: "And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Yeah, we are anti- gun control, and pro-life, and against special rights for homosexuals because we are bitter people....not because it is part of our belief system or morals...YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

A moment to praise Jason Whitlock

I often disagree with what sports writer Jason Whitlock has to say. I am a baseball guy, who happens to like basketball but thinks that the professional game is boring. I also enjoy football but nowhere near as much as Mr. Whitlock seems to. He also tends to venture into the public sphere quite often, and I find myself being turned of by sports writers who think they have their fingers on the pulse of the "average" American. From time to time however, he writes an article that knocks me off my feet ... and he has come up with a couple of them in recent days.
The first is on a recent issue of Vogue which featured LeBron James on the cover. As a conservative man of color living in America I am often disturbed at what is deemed racially insensitive. Maybe if we stopped being so sensitive, racism would fade away?
The second has to deal with the upcoming Beijing Olympics . If you have been reading my blog for any length of time, you probably realize that I think involving ourselves in any manner, with a nation as perverted and criminal as China, is criminal. I think our Trade Agreement with them is hypocritical and I think that if we are ever going to take the moral high road in international politics it is now. Though if you read the article I posted yesterday from the venerable Pat Buchanan, he has a decidedly different take on international politics ... and I agree with him too. The fact that I agree with both Buchanan and the protesters against the Chinese Olympics, tells me that I am quite confused.

Roland Martin on Religion

I really have no problem with Roland Martin over at CNN. I read his articles on their website fairly often (as well as the drivel that Ruben Navarette writes) and feel that he is a good writer with a thoughtful pen. However, as a Christian and a Latino first generation American, I find that usually his writing is right in my wheelhouse. The problem is that Roland and I usually disagree (the same can be said of Mr. Navarette and I, though Ruben is generally much harsher and less well spoken), and the same can be said about his most recent article on CNN's website.
He paints Evangelical conservative Christians with a very broad brush (and if you read the comments section so do his readers), what he and other talking heads do not realize is that to many of us Christians who are ideologically conservative the problem with abortion is that we believe it is murder. Pure and simple. No gray areas. No room for debate. Many of us believe that life begins at conception and if you choose to end that life then you are committing murder. If I knew someone was seeking to kill someone else, I would do all within my power to stop that from happening. In his article Mr. Martin says "I have always maintained that people of faith who are conservative need to move beyond the issues of abortion and homosexuality and broaden what are deemed faith issues..." what he fails to realize is that to many of us this is not a "political issue", it is an issue of faith, morality, and what we see as a modern day holocaust.
The other aspect of faith he touches on is the issue of homosexuality. The problem here is that there are hateful bigots out there who hate homosexuals because of their lifestyle. I think that homosexuality is wrong (and the Scripture has taught that for over 5,000 years), but that someone who lives that lifestyle is still a creation of the Lord's and someone who deserves to be loved and cherished as such. It's cliche but true, we should "hate the sin and love the sinner". There are others of us who stand against people who choose to hate just to hate (and the late Dr. Falwell was one such man ... if you can't believe that, look at his work with Soul Force a group of practicing homosexuals who called themselves Christians), I know there will be people on both sides of the issue who hate me for my stance, but marriage is not a right it is a privilege and a religious institution and should be kept that way. Roland, there must be things that you are not willing to compromise on, while abortion and homosexuality may not be issues that you are zealous about, there must be issues that burn within you. These are those issues for many conservative Christians.

Big Bad Oil Companies...and more...

Congress is giving the oil companies a hard time again. I don't think our Democratic officials have ever read Adam Smith, which is odd, I thought he was mandatory reading in most college economics courses. The "Invisible Hand" tells us that if we leave business alone, it will work positively for us, (the little people) not for any altruistic reason but simply because it is in their best interests.
Look, I am not defending the oil companies...they see times are tough they should choose to roll back prices a little and help out the little guys. I just get bothered by the idea that they HAVE to lower prices. Don't businesses open to make money? They are just doing what they are in the business to do, and I cannot hold that against them.
The annual "Pig Book" is out and wouldn't you know it the Democrats are the bigger pork barrelers by over 1 billion dollars! The Republicans are not much better getting 4.4 billion dollars to the Dems 5.5 billion. The Democrats have been saying that the Republicans are no longer the party of limited spending (and they are right), but the Democrats are not the party of fiscal responsibility either.
While I am not a fan of John McCain, but he has done what he said he would and has not requested earmarks. We have to decide that we are not going to reward our legislators for trying to bribe us with this "pork" spending. As mad as we get about this ridiculous spending, it's our own faults, we reward our politicians for bringing home money for frivolous things (like peanut festivals) even though the spending hurts our country.

* I mentioned John McCain positively before but now I need to jump on him for some stupid ideas. The other day he mentioned that he was different than Bush because he would choose to face and deal with the "problem" of global warming. He is against drilling ANWAR and believes that global warming will kill us all.
He and Mr. Lieberman ignore the fact that there is no consensus within the scientific community over global warming. There is consensus among politicians, actors, and liberal crazies but I will wait for something definitive from weather forecasters and climatologists.

Baseball's Back!

Watched the Civil Rights game tonight and got to see the Mets dispatch the White Sox. I gotta say that John Maine looks very good thus far, and hopefully he can carry his solid pitching into the new season. I know I have said it before but I love the New York Mets, and I love to watch them play ball. My wonderful wife has allowed me to purchase MLB Extra Innings from Comcast this year and I cannot wait to watch nothing but baseball for the next 7 months!!! I know she's excited too...

MLB had its second annual "Civil Rights" game tonight, and I must say, I love the idea. It is an opportunity to honor Martin Luther King, Jr., Jackie Robinson, and other heroes of the Civil Rights movement, and of baseball's segregated past. I appreciate it because I think unlike other sports baseball is built on its reverence for history. What I mean is that the game of baseball is built on the shoulders of the players who came before... that is why Barry Bonds HR record is so controversial, and Pete Rose's banning for life is so painful, and why millions of kids today who could not tell you the name of the Vice President of our country is could tell you who Babe Ruth was. It is important that baseball remembers its shadier past and honor men like Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, and Josh Gibson.

This is a natural segue into a political subject.
A lot has been said recently about Barrack Obama's speech on race and politics in America. I heard someone compare the speech to "I have a dream"... and I must say as a non-black American, I was aghast. Obama basically said that black Americans talk about white people behind their backs, in barber shops and churches. I am here to announce that white (and in my case latino) Americans do not talk about black America behind their backs... or to their faces for that matter. I am not saying that racism is not alive in America, but I am saying that it is much more insidious than the white - black racism of Jim Crow through the 1960s. As someone on the outside looking in it almost looks like perhaps, today in America, people are racist against whites...?

Hey Roland, let me ask you a question. If John McCain was a good buddy of David Duke would you not write about it, and blast McCain for his association to him? A couple of years ago Trent Lott lost his job for saying during Strom Thurmond's birthday party that "The country would have been better off electing him...". This was the man's b-day party and Thurmond ran for President 50+ years ago! Whether you like it or not Roland everyone...you, me, and our politicians are judged at least partly by their associates.

* I was pleased to read this quote from Senator Obama ( though I don't know how sincere it is), especially with all his supporters telling Mrs. Clinton to drop out. Personally, i'd like this to go on as long as possible ... I think that it helps the Republicans if the Dems keep fighting. However, it does actually bother me that some Democrats have been discounting the desires of half of their party so that Mr. Obama could be pronounced the candidate sooner. I think the 50% of democrats who are Hillary supporters deserve their say.
* Enjoyed seeing that this anti-war movie is a flop. When will Hollywood realize that America does not reside in the coastal cities but in the heartland. These movies don't get watched because we don't agree with their message! Wake UP Hollywood!
* Finally, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is planning to boycott the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. I know that our leaders official position is that a boycott makes no sense, but maybe we should consider it. The Chinese don't deserve the world's focus (in a positive way) and this will make it possible for us to protest without hurting our Olympians.

Don't forget to tune into Opening Night ... tomorrow Sunday March 30th at 8pm on ESPN. Washington will open up their new stadium against the Atlanta Braves, should be fun!

Media Bias?

I know...it's been a while. However, there is a lot on my mind so I thought I would bring back the blog. So much has happend in the last few months, it's hard to know where to start. I think the obvious choice is to start with the Presidential race or the state of Congress...but I don't want to be obvious. Let's start with a bias in the Media.
Both sides of the aisles spend hours yelling at each other how the Main Stream Media is out to get them. For Hillary Clinton it's Tim Russert being unfair, for every Republican it's every member of the MSM except the guys at Fox News. For Big Nose Henry Waxman it is now the governments job to step in and make sure that our Radio Media has fair coverage...meaning that groups like Air America should be subsidized (because no one listens to them) and the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc. should be taken down a couple of pegs. I can completely foresee something like Title IX for radio. Where conservative programming is barred because there has to be an equal amount of liberal programming on the radio waves. Be looking out for a new wave of pirate radio, where Conservatives can be free of government mandates.
But I digress...

I have to admit before this article came out I was one of those who did think that the MSM had a liberal bent to it. I also agree that the opinions expressed at Fox News are generally a little more conservative than fair (though I think they are more FAIR than the rest of the MSM). But after reading this article from that bastion of conservatism that is HARVARD...oh wait....they aren't conservative at Harvard. After reading the results of this study I am completely on board with the Media being pro-liberal.
If you are a liberal be aware this article could worry you...this is not anecdoatal evidence this is a complete summary of news stories presented by the MSM over period of 109 weeknights. I can just hear Henry Waxman crapping his pants over this article.

Dr. Jerry Falwell

Sad and Happy news today. First, the sad part...Dr. Jerry Falwell passed away today. Dr. Falwell had a profound impact on my life, he was a wonderful, jovial, loving man who never ceased to amaze me with his heart for others. The rest of the world will probably remember him for his founding of the moral majority and his single handedly handing Ronald Reagan the presidency in 1981, or for what he had to say about the Teletubbies. I will remember him for always having a smile on his face, for teaching us (his students at Liberty University) to always love others, for never forgetting to present the Gospel when he had opportunity, and for always reaching out to those who were less fortunate or who hadn't yet heard the truth.
I remember once walking around campus with a friend we ran into Dr. Falwell, and he smiled at us, asked how we were, slapped me on the back (almost causing me to collapse...he was a strong man) and told us how the Lord loved us. Maybe thats not a big deal, but for a young kid like me, having a champion of the faith take time to say hello and encourage me was HUGE.
There are those who would disparage Dr. Falwell, but they did not know him and they obviously never listened to what he had to say. They only listened to what others (who did not agree with him) had to say about him. Dr. Falwell's message was always based in love and in a desire to see others come to know the Savior.
Thank you LORD, for allowing me to be impacted by the ministry of your servant Jerry Falwell.
I hurt with the family of Dr. Falwell, and am not ashamed to say that I loved him deeply as a brother in Christ and will miss his presence here with us.
But for the happy news...Dr. Falwell is now in glory, feeling no pain, and celebrating his homecoming with the Creator. We were made for what he now gets to experience for the rest of eternity...this is not our home we are just strangers passing through. Our citizenship is in Heaven.

A real Conservative?

As the Republican candidates continue to come out of the woodwork, I find myself in a fog trying to discover who I want to vote for. I think Mitt Romney is still my front runner, but I kind of like Fred Thompson (who isn't actually running...yet), and Newt Gingrich (also not yet running). I also kind of fancy a darkhorse who isn't really a Republican (neither am I, probably why I like him), his name is Ron Paul.

Al Gore, the Great Deceiver

So, Al Gore has been challenged to a debate on Global Warming, yet refuses to debate. In fact, there is an apparent "list" of scientists, economists, and professors who would also enjoy questioning Al Gore's methods of research. But again, No, Al Gore will not debate this topic. If he is so sure about global warming and has all this evidence to back him up, why won't he participate in a debate on this topic? Here is a link to the global warming heartland website. As we mourn and recover from the horrific massacre of the 32 VT students, gun control activists along with the media are already using this story to further their agendas. It has been only two days since the worst killings in U.S. history, can we please show some remorse for the families and friends of these students? April 17th, the day after the shootings, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, a democrat from NY, had this to say, "The unfortunate situation in Virginia could have been avoided if congressional leaders stood up to the gun lobby." No time wasted, but then again can we expect anything less from these people? I will not join in the exploitation of this terrible incident, instead I wish to express my condolences to the families of those 32 students, as well as the student body of Virginia Tech. Our hearts and prayers are with them.

How 'bout them Mets?

Gotta love the 'Mazin's! Whooped up on the loudmouth crew from the city of "brotherly shove". I love to see guys like Jimmy Rollins get shown up, when they talk trash and their team doesn't back it up. I have to give Rollins his due though he had a great game 3 against Tom Glavine, but it wasn't enough to win the series. Anyway, the Phillies are now 2-7 while the Mets are 6-3 and sit atop ESPN's power rankings.

Whoaa. Sorry, it has been a couple of weeks since my last post, there has been a lot going on in our crazy world. Hardly know where to start. Imus, Duke lacrosse, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, Michelle Malkin covering for Bill O'Reilly against a couple of racist jerks...so many choices...
I have to say that Don Imus' radio show is a snapshot of what is wrong with our culture. Imus, Howard Stern, Opie & Anthony, etc., are proof that our society is morally bankrupt. What Imus said is deplorable, but c'mon folks, the man has said much worse almost every day for his entire career. Does Rosie O'Donell get fired when she says fundamentalist Christians are as dangerous as fanatical Muslims? Does Al Sharpton lose his radio show when he spews his racist vitriol (lest we forget Tawana Brawley, the Crown Heights Riot, the Freddy's Fashion Mart Riot, and more recently the Duke case)? Does Bill Maher lose his job when he suggests that we would be better off if someone assassinated VP Cheney? Does Chris Rock lose his sponsors when he rants and raves his racist and deplorable "comedy"? How about the host of Rap(and rock) stars whose songs are rife with violence and profanity about and against women? The left in America (which Imus is generally a part of) is immersed in inconsistencies. It proves what I have believed for a long time, liberals are racist and they hate people who make a lot of money (except for themselves and their friends). Pat Buchanan has a great article that concisely cuts to the heart of the matter at World Net Daily.
Very interesting article from Terry Moran at ABC News. Maybe it's more telling than it is interesting...actually, maybe it's kind of scary. Does this sound like something from Karl Marx or Friedrich Engels to anyone else? Class warfare talk scares the crap out of me. Most fair minded people can see that the reporters who work at the major news agencies have a bias one way or the other(including the folks at Fox News), but Terry Moran is completely transparent in this article.
I have heard some people on the talk radio circuit and on TV calling for apologies from the, oh so reputable, Right Reverends. Sharpton and Jackson should apologize, but seeing how Sharpton never apologized for the Tawana Brawley escapade that he created, should we really consider that he might apologize for their hate filled racist speeches about the Duke boys? These two (Sharpton and Jackson) have about as much respectability and believability, as a pair of mafia godfathers (and their means of exerting their power are fairly similar). Not that these guys from Duke aren't slimy...they most certainly are...but no one deserves being charged with rape and being convicted in the media for crimes that their is no evidence they committed. (In fact the people of Durham should fire Mike Nifong, and bring Imus down for a job interview.)
Noticed that Michelle Malkin covered for Bill O'Reilly this week and she had some incredibly stupid guests. You need to read this post. While you might not have known it, the vile speech in rap music can be blamed on our "Founding Fathers". In this same blog you read about how Michelle was also called a prostitute by her second guest, the evil Malik Shabazz, leader of the "New Black Panther Party". I love how liberal minorities love to hate on us conservative minorities, because they consider us "sell outs". Why is that just because we have a different political ideology (generally driven by a Judeo-Christian ethic) that we are sellouts and lapdogs of the "white" majority? Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Michael Steele, JC Watts, etc. If you happen to be a conservative minority you are not being faithful to yourself...it is a lie perpetrated on us by the liberal media and the vociferous leadership of a racist, militant minority. In general African Americans are not racist, at the same time they are allowing some evil men like Malik Shabazz, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson to speak for them.
Being attacked by racism and class warfare from within, and fascist terrorism from without...we are under some intense fire today. We need to fight back. Racism is not okay. Trying to get your way by turning people against each other because of how much money they make, is not okay. We need to tell our politicians and leaders that we are not going to allow them to force us to hate each other.

A Hero for our time.

In an age when we are severly lacking of true heroes to look up to, one has been given to us. Lance Cpl. Jeremy Staat, a former defensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Rams is just the kind of athletic star we should be telling our children to look up to. Not the drug smoking, wife beating, strip club attending thugs that they look up to now. Here is a little of what he had to say recently:
"The way I look at it, we're spreading freedom, and you have to support the troops and you have to support the war," Staat, 29, told KITV in Honolulu on Tuesday as he prepared to leave from Hawaii. "You can't just tell some Marine who just lost his buddy that we supported you but not the war, because in that case you're basically saying that Marine, his buddy, just died for nothing. We're one team."

More Violence from the Peaceniks!

It is the third time in two years that this army recruitment office in Milwaukee has had to replace their storefront windows. The police report also mentioned human excretement smeared on the office front. Pat Grobschmidt, public affairs officer for Army recruiting in Milwaukee, said "Soldiers defend the right of all Americans to peacefully express their point of their view. We're dismayed that their actions are anything but peaceful."
Why is anyone still suprised? American Liberals (including Democrats) have been working their hardest since the invasion of Iraq, to turn this war into another Vietnam. They compare the two conflicts constantly...there is no comparison except that the anti-war movement is just as deplorable, immoral, hateful, vengeful, spiteful, and just plain evil as they were back then. Soldiers coming home from Vietnam were forced to face the foulest of evils on their return from the battlefield...Americans spitting at them, cursing them, even beating them (like what happened in Canada two weeks ago).
We lost more than 57,000 American soldiers in Vietnam and did not free them from Communist control. In the last 5 years we have lost just over 3,000 soldiers and we have freed two countries from the clutches of violent dictatorships/oligarchies. Forget that this is a completely different conflict, forget that we have been much more successful in Iraq and Afghanistan, the worst part is that the left wants this to be a loss. Liberal America BEGS for our defeat, they are praying to the god of secular humanism that we bring our soldiers home with our collective tail between our legs. They would rather lose this war, allow millions of innocent people to be ruled by harsh and violent facists then to have us win and free these people from these facists...because then the Republicans would lose. This is the most damnable part of the whole thing, they just hate Republicans...

Teach It!

A Biology teacher in Oregon was fired for referencing the Bible in his class. Not for teaching creationism but for "referencing" the Bible. The school board fired him for "for deviating from the curriculum on the theory of evolution". Here is some of what he said in the article at CNN.com:
"Helphinstine, 27, said in a phone interview with The Bulletin newspaper of Bend that he included the supplemental material to teach students about bias in sources, and his only agenda was to teach critical thinking.
"Critical thinking is vital to scientific inquiry," said Helphinstine, who has a master's degree in science from Oregon State. "My whole purpose was to give accurate information and to get them thinking."
Helphinstine said he did not teach the idea that God created the world. "I never taught creationism," he said. "I know what it is, and I went out of my way not to teach it.""
One parent complained that his daughter had been confused by the supplemental material. Oh NO!!! His child was confused by her schoolwork!! I have never seen that happen before...
Millions of American Christians with children in the Public School system are forced to hear the secular humanists worldview and creation mythology, one teacher happens to add the other side to his teaching and he gets fired. Of course, makes perfect sense.

New Strategy?

It seems like the new fad for suicide bombers may include children. It is too soon to say whether or not this is an isolated incident, but don't doubt that these "animals" will go to any extreme (extremists?) to try and prove a point. Yet for some reason we still here the same heart-felt sentiment going out to these insurgents, "It's not their fault, we shouldn't be over there in the first place." Would Muhammad approve of using children as suicide bombers?
The American public must come to realize that these jihadists will stop at nothing to hurt us. They've attacked us once before and who is to say they would not attack us again. We cannot be naive, and knowing that the insurgents have pushed their attacks to the absolute limit, is a little scary. I never understood why they killed their OWN people in the first place, but now I am completely at a loss for words. Children? May God have mercy on their souls.

"The Greatest Game"

I haven't gotten to talk about it much but with only 12 days to go, I am sitting on pins and needles. You may find out in the next few months that I absolutely LOVE baseball and the New York Mets ...I know, I know...I seem smarter than that. I have had my heart broken more than a few times since the 1986 World Series, but I cannot get away from them. In 12 days the greatest league of the greatest sport that is played on this world will begin, the New York Mets will seek a little revenge from the St. Louis Cardinals for the NLCS last year. Very interesting book about Negro League star Buck O'Neil, who by the way, should be a Hall of Famer.

This is America today...

Are you down for the struggle? These are not isolated incidents...when will we stand up to these hateful poeple who would see us all destroyed. I am not talking about fanatical Muslims!!! I am talking about left-wing Castro-Chavez-Ortega fanatics, who live right here in the United States! Who will stand up to stop them? Anyone...Anyone?

George Stephanopoulos

I watched George Stephanopoulos today with Charles Gibson talking about how the Bush administration is in trouble with the firing of theses US Attorneys...this plain ticks me off. In 1993 why was Stephanopoulos okay with Clinton firing all of the Attorneys, yet now that a Republican President fires 8, there is a problem. I haven't heard one politician talking about how two of the fired Attorneys from '93 were pursuing illegal activity by President Clinton and his friends but yet they get mad that President Bush fires these 8 lawyers without cause? Somebody, somewhere has get to start paying attention, or we are all in some serious trouble.

I find it funny...

Those crazy Dems are at it again. This time the "problem" is so flimsy you can see right through it. They have been railing against the President and the Attorney General all day for firing eight (of 93)US attorneys...no one said a single word when then President Clinton fired ALL of the US Attorneys. AMAZING. In a political climate where every word, and action of any Conservative politician is scrutinized as a possibly inflamatory and politically motivated act...why does the Mainstream Media let this go? (As if you really need me to answer that for you)...

Amazing Grace

I wanted to leave a quick note today about a movie the wife and I were able to catch last night. "Amazing Grace" starring Ioan Gruffudd ( I had never heard of him either but I had seen him on tv), and Albert Finney, was truly magnificent. It is the amazing story of the life (specifically his battle against the slave trade) of WIlliam Wilberforce. I have to admit that I was talked into attending by my wife...but once I got the background I was intrigued. If you have not seen it, do yourself a favor and make sure you do. It is well worth the time (about 2 hours) and the money.

Duh McCain...

Great idea smart guy, go announce your candidacy on a show where almost no one who would care about you is watching. When will the Republican politicians stop messing themselves over by leaning left? Letterman's ratings are terrible, and his main audience HATES Republicans! Mr. McCain, wake up, please...

Alan Colmes mad at Anne Coulter...

But is he mad at Bill Maher for his recent statements about Ariana Huffington's reckless blog)? Check out what the great liberal prophet himself had to say about the recent attempt on the life of Vice President Cheney (Maher's comments). What I love is the notion that liberals are loving, kind, considerate, generous...and that conservatives are the converse. Huffington being forced to remove all of the posts from her blog should be enough to dispel the notion of liberal "kindness". Just this past week Alan Colmes railed against Anne Coulter for using a derogatory term when referencing John Edwards (and he should have, her comments were absurd), but where was his angst against these liberal hate-mongers? There is a double standard here, and why am I not suprised that the mainstream media has not picked up on it? Liberals are okay with the murder of our Vice President but they get all riled up when "forceful" measures are used against terrorists who have been detained after fighting against us. That makes total sense...

I know we don't live in a perfect world and there are going to be disagreements and problems. I just cannot understand how the war on Islama-fascist terrorist organizations is something we disagree on. I am okay with people who disagree with the Iraq war (though no one will ever convince me that what we did was not a Good thing), but are we not in danger from a radical form of Islam that tells its adherents that they either must convert us or kill us?
I am okay with people who don't like President Bush, or Republicans...because I am not a huge fan of them or the democrats either.
But how can anyone look at Iran, or Palestine, or Syria and not be worried? Let us look at the Palestinians for example. No doubt they have a troubling history with persecution from all sides(The Palestinians have been slaughtered by other Muslims as well, do not forget Black September), but in recent times they have been offered peace and their own nation but have rejected it out of hand because the Palestinian leadership believes that Israel has no right to exist and desires to push Israel into the Mediterranean.
Or Iran whose leaders continue with their violent rhetoric daily, even though time and again American leaders have promised they have no plans to attack Iran. "Iran vowed Thursday the Islamic republic would hit back at U.S. interests worldwide if attacked. The comments by Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came the same day that another top official, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Javad Zarif, warned in a column in The New York Times that efforts to isolate Iran would simply backfire on the United States, increasing sectarian tensions in the volatile Middle East, including Iraq."
I am not a big fan of the laws in Europe that prosecute Holocaust deniers ( I think its an example of European PC Socialist oppresion) but Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is ridiculous, his hate for Israel is so great that he is now calling for "PROOF" that there was a holocaust. Holocaust denial in general probably isn't too dangerous considering the plethora of evidence just lying about for you to study...but in the hands of racist Muslims it could be very dangerous. Israel has twice defended its territory from invading Arab/Muslim forces in recent history, the next attack however, could be the last. If Iran is able to upgrade to nuclear technology what would keep a government who thinks they can usher the "return" of god back with a worldwide war against infidels from using that technology?
Make no mistake folks, the leaders of Iran are seeking to hasten the return of god by destroying Israel and us non-Jewish infidels. Wake up...
